Retaliation

Retaliation means any adverse action taken against an individual for making a good faith report of a violation of policy or participating in any investigation or proceeding as a part of the student conduct process. Retaliation includes threatening, intimidating, harassing or any other conduct that would discourage a reasonable person from engaging in activity protected by the Hampshire College Student Handbook and Resource Guide. Retaliation may be present even where there is a finding of “no responsibility” on a reported violation of policy. Retaliation does not include good faith actions lawfully pursued in a legal process outside of the community standards process [1].
